| Description of Volunteer Opportunities Support Volunteers Support volunteers work behind-the-scenes in Program offices. Projects and activities require direct contact with staff and can involve some type of office support such as data entry, filing, answering inquires, assisting with bulk mailings, may include research, writing/editing and coordinating of volunteer-based projects. Volunteers, who choose to participate in this program should prefer to work in an office environment, demonstrate an interest in serving as a resource person and can commit to volunteering on a regular basis. Special Event Volunteers Special event volunteers assist with activities, conferences or events hosted by the Hoyleton Children’s Home Foundation or in which HCHF is participating. Volunteers work on an on-call basis depending on event location and time frame. Volunteers who choose to participate in this program need to be flexible, enjoy working with a variety of people and ages, prefer to work on an on-call basis and complete multiple tasks. Commitment and duties vary depending on the location of events and activities. Holiday/In-Kind Volunteers In-kind volunteers assist with the organization and acknowledgements of donated gifts. Volunteers who choose to participate in this area will be required to deliver and pick up in kind gifts. The proper candidates must be in good physical condition because lifting and climbing stairs is required. Volunteers in this program will be needed at the beginning of school year, Christmas and on an on call basis. Recreation Department Volunteers Volunteers will assist staff in programmed activities. Duties include: assisting in organization and participation in games, sports, and arts and crafts. Background check required. Hours vary according to the department’s needs. Background check required. Summer Volunteers Summer volunteers serve as chaperones for our summer programs in our foster care program and residential program. Duties may include preparing sack lunches. Must be available May – August. Background check required.

The Hoyleton Children’s Home Foundation is looking for compassionate men and women, known throughout their respective communities, to stimulate interest and potential support for our ministries.
In this case, support is defined as the ability to communicate the mission of Hoyleton Youth and Family Services, the willingness to provide volunteer support, and potential financial support. The key objective is to share our story with more people, receiving volunteer or financial support is an added bonus.
If you are interested in becoming a host your duties will include...
· Selecting one or two days within the year to host a Heart of Hoyleton luncheon.
· Securing a location
· Securing box lunches/refreshments for presentation
· Encouraging acquaintances to attend
· Attending the Presentation
