Independent Living Program - What happens to DCFS wards, ages 18 to 21, who are trying to live independently? Sometimes, they are ready to face the world on their own. Often, though, they need additional assistance in making the transition from a structured environment to an independent lifestyle. Hoyleton's Independent Living Program helps these southern Illinois youth develop the skills they need to become independent and successful adults. Although youth live on their own, a Hoyleton staff member checks on them on a regular basis and is always available to address any immediate problems.
