| Area High School Students Team Up for Mission Project at the Hoyleton Children's Home |
|
Thanks to the hard work of a local mission group, the Hoyleton Children’s Home received several upgrades during the month of March, including a new roof on Koelling Cottage, a rebuilt Hoyleton sign on the front of the campus, several new picnic tables and a new sidewalk that will be appreciated greatly by our disabled clients.
Mission trip volunteers included Coulterville High School Teacher Tim Schnoeker, Steeleville High School Teacher Brian Belcher, and about 30 students from their Construction and Manufacturing Technology classes. Additionally, several mentors volunteered their time to make the experience meaningful for the students. The group did a great service for the children in our care, and gained valuable hands-on experience for the fields in which they are preparing to start careers in.
This is the second year in a row that Coulterville and Steeleville students have teamed up to assist the children and young adults served by Hoyleton, and we look forward to working with them again in the future. For more information on volunteer opportunities, contact the Hoyleton Ministries at (618) 493-7575 or by email at info@hoyleton.org.
