Abuse in a dating relationship does not just mean physical abuse. There are many ways one partner can attempt to control another in a dating relationship.
Types of abuse can include:
Physical Abuse – hitting, slapping, pushing, kicking, biting, hair pulling, etc.
Verbal, Emotional, Mental, Psychological Abuse – name calling, put downs, public embarrassment, mind games.
Sexual Abuse – any unwanted sexual contact.
Social Abuse or Isolation – refusing to allow a person to be with friends, checking up on a person constantly, telling someone where and when they can go.
Financial Abuse – taking a partner’s money.
Cyber Abuse – posting or texting inappropriate comments or photos of a partner.
