Direct Support Worker

Call-in positions are currently open for Community Integrated Living Arrangement (CILA) Direct Support Workers at our Highland CILA location.  The following is provided for your review:

The Direct Support Worker is responsible for implementing the direct service and support for all individuals living in the CILA.  This position serves as an advocate to the individuals to live in the community as productive citizens.  It is important that direct support workers set and role model realistic and positive standards of conduct and morality.  Direct Support Workers should be punctual, responsible, and supportive.

Job Responsibilities:·    

·         Support and assist CILA individuals in all aspects of their daily life.

·         Complete documentation as required.

·         Read and understand all Individual Support Plans, Behavior Plans, and any other aspects of Person Centered Planning.

·         Maintains familiarity with and compliance with COA standards as well as all other licensing standards required by referring agencies.

·         Participates in the development of Individualized Service Plans, program goals and objectives, and any other assessment.

·         Comply with and role model all rules and regulations.

·         Maintain a safe, maintenance free environment for all individuals.

·         Attend staff meetings and conferences to obtain knowledge and direction for the agency.

·         Provide accurate record keeping and reporting processes to insure that flow of written communication is current and effective. 

·         Ensure that all parts of the CILA remain in good physical condition.  Make recommendations and request expenditures when needed to the Community Living Coordinator.

·         Communicate daily events to the Community Living Coordinator.

·         Tends to the teamwork approach of the agency as it is carried out in the CILA program to insure that productive working relationships are maintained at all levels.

·         Understands and is committed to the agency’s mission statement, philosophy of care, and treatment modalities. 

·         Works to develop program, initiates new directions, and improve quality of services to individuals. 

·         Takes responsibility for policy formation and implementation to facilitate effective services delivery.

·         Assumes other related tasks as required by the Community Living Coordinator.

·         Participate in the on-going development and related activities of a comprehensive quality improvement process within the agency.

Education and/or Experience:

1.    Minimum of a GED or high school diploma.

2.    Able to successfully complete DSP classroom and OJT training program.

3.    Able to pass 8th grade level reading test.

4.    At least 21 years of age.
